President & Co-Founder: JUDITH FORD
Judith has been a
Democrat her entire life. After graduating with a BS from Ball State
University, she moved to the south Denton county area and has made
her home here ever since. Judith's experience with Democratic
activism in north Texas include serving as Chair of the Denton
County Democratic Party Finance Committee for over a year; as a
Democratic Precinct Chair for Precinct #224 for over 3 years; as a
political blogger at Castle Hills Democrats; as an elected member of
the Texas Progressive Alliance; and as a past member of the North
Dallas Texas Democratic Women and the League of Women Voters. Judith
has a successful career in healthcare management.

President & Co-Founder: TONI MEDELLIN
Director, Women's Vote Initiatives
Lifelong
Democrat and political activist, Toni, moved to North Texas in April
2008. As an Attorney (Rutgers Law '96) and Professor of Government,
she has dedicated her professional career to educating the
public--especially women, young people, and minorities--about the
importance of participating in the democratic process. During her
tenure in Harris County, Toni served as President of the Kingwood
Area Democrats, Faculty Advisor to the College Democrats at Lone
Star College-Kingwood, Senate District 4 Vacancy Chair, Chair of the Women's Vote
Task Force for
ROADWomen, and was recognized by the Family Time Foundation as a
Woman of Achievement in the field of Education in 2007.

Treasurer &
Co-Founder: MACHELLE ASHBAUGH
Since moving to Texas from the Buckeye state in 2004, Machelle has
made politics her passion. She is the Democratic Precinct Chair of
precinct 316 in Highland Village, where she lives with her husband
and the youngest of their three sons. Her past roles with the Denton
County Democratic Party include Steering Committee Member, Precinct
Development Committee Chair, and volunteer for various campaigns.
Machelle has a Ph.D. in plant pathology from the Ohio State
University and is a strong supporter of science education,
previously serving as a board member for the DFW Herpetological
Society. She is a retired project manager for Lucent Technologies,
where she worked for 15 years in the area of technical training. She
is a former guardian ad litem for CASA of Denton County.
Secretary:
Dr. NANCY NOAH
Nancy Noah is
a school psychologist who has lived in Denton County for 26 years.
She finds it very exciting to be part of the growing movement toward
Democratic principles and values in North Texas. As a first-time
delegate to the state Democratic convention in June of 2008, she
realized a “decades-old” dream. Now, she is eager to increase her
time and energy toward bringing more Democrats to office locally,
state-wide, and nationally; and to help make the Democratic Women of
Denton County a place for women to be seen and heard!
Director
at Large: Sheryl English
Sheryl English is a
Realtor, Mom and Wife. She and her family relocated from Los
Angeles, California 7 1/2 years ago. She has been an active
participant with PTA in her children's schools as well as District
Council PTA, she is on the Campus Leadership Team at Guyer High
School, Education Improvement Committee. She also has a mobile
notary business "A Moments Notice Mobile Notary". Sheryl
joined Democratic Women of Denton County at our inaugural meeting in
June 2009 and was recently invited to serve on the Board of
Directors. She is currently running for the Denton Independent
School District Board of Trustees, Place 3.

Director,
Communications: SUZAN HOLTEN
Suzan Holten has been a Graphic Designer and copy writer for
over 15 years. She is currently the Communications Director for
Democratic Women of Denton County and serves as Business Outreach
Chair for the Denton County Democratic Party. Suzan has won awards
for designing the Texas Lottery Logo and the Midland, Texas
Cenntennial logo.
Director,
Liaison to Denton County Democratic Party: PHYLLIS WOLPER
Phyllis is the newly elected Chair of the Denton County Democratic
Party. A lifelong Democrat, Phyllis has been active in Denton
County politics for several years now, most recently as the founder
of the Democratic Business Referral Club. In 2008, she was the
Democratic nominee for Denton County Commissioner. Devoted to
community service, Phyllis also serves as Vice President of the
Board of Day Stay for Adults, Inc. and is a member of the
Scholarship Committee for the Texas Women's University Former
Student Association. She is currently co-owner/Realtor of Century
21 Judge Fite Company and was recently certified GREEN.
Director, Texas
Democratic Party Liaison: HON. SUSAN CULP
Susan Culp has lived
in North Texas for 40 years, during which time she has resided in
Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant Counties. She did volunteer work
for the National ACLU from 1995 - 2001. After a few years off after
the birth of her last child, she became returned to active politics
including working full-time on the State House District 106 campaign
of Katy Hubener in 2004 and as a part-time volunteer for her
campaign in 2006. She is currently serving her second term as the
State Democratic Executive Committeewoman from Senate District 9,
where she serves as Co-Vice Chair of the Legislative Committee. She
has also served on the Dallas County Democratic Party's Advisory
Council since 2005. Susan is a former Vice-President of the
Grand Prairie Democrats, former Precinct Chair and current Election
Judge. To support her political habit, she works in the Finance
Department at The Dallas Morning News.

Director at Large:
DIANE BERG
Diane Berg is a retired executive from the Customer
Care/Call Center industry and lives in Lewisville. Married with two
grown children, 5 grandchildren and currently serving as Precinct
Chair for precinct 310. Active in Democratic politics since the
early ‘70s, serving in leadership positions at the local, state and
national level. Actively committed to turning Denton
County and
Texas BLUE with Democratic women in elected positions.
